Schneider Wallace Cottrell Konecky Opens Los Angeles Office, Adds Four Partners
Schneider Wallace Cottrell Konecky LLP, a national plaintiff side law firm, is pleased to announce the March 14th, 2022 opening of its new office in Los Angeles, California. The firm’s new office – its second in California and fifth nationwide – will focus on complex litigation involving employment, consumer protection, and antitrust matters. The Los Angeles office, located on 300 S. Grand Avenue, is within walking distance to both state and federal courthouses.
The Bunker Hill office will be led by partner Jason H. Kim, who will oversee day-to-day office management and represent Schneider Wallace Cottrell Konecky in the Southern California legal community. Jason has led the firm’s Business Litigation and Competition practice group since 2020, representing classes, municipalities, and several of the nation’s largest health insurers in a wide variety of civil matters. The Los Angeles office will house two partners and six associates, bringing the total headcount for the firm to 67 lawyers.
Partner Carolyn Cottrell, a member of the firm since 1995, will continue overseeing the firm’s employment practice now expanding into the Los Angeles office and will be a part-time resident of that office. Ms. Cottrell has spent her legal career advocating for the rights of workers who have been subjected to underpayment of wages, discrimination, harassment and retaliation. She has litigated hundreds of class actions and individual claims including wage and hour, employment discrimination and civil rights actions. Ms. Cottrell was honored as a “Top Woman Litigator” by the Daily Journal and she was nominated for “Woman Trial Lawyer of the Year” by the Consumer Attorneys of California. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association.

The firm continues to grow and has recently promoted four lawyers to partnership. These new partners are: Amy Eskin, Ryan Hicks, David Leimbach, and Nathan Piller. Amy Eskin, as the Director of the Mass Tort department, brings more than thirty years of trial experience in personal injury, products liability and complex pharmaceutical and medical device cases to the firm. Ms. Eskin was elected into the American Board of Trial Advocates, has been honored as a top attorney of Northern California by San Francisco Magazine, and received the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association Civil Justice Award among other honors. Ryan Hicks, working in the Houston office, brings decades of experience in civil litigation and personal injury, including toxic torts, toxic exposure, and catastrophic injury. David Leimbach and Nathan Piller’s practices focus on complex litigation including consumer protection class action and employment class action.
