Well-Known South Florida Neutral Pam Perry Joins Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group
MIAMI (April 13, 2023) – Pamela I. Perry, a highly respected professional neutral since 2004, has joined the panel of Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group.
Ms. Perry is a panel member of the American Arbitration Association, a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator, a certified mediator, a special master and an author and speaker concerning alternative dispute resolution.
“We are delighted to welcome Pam Perry to our panel of neutrals,” John Upchurch, the group’s CEO said. “Pam has an extraordinary record of accomplishment as a mediator and arbitrator, handling major disputes in a variety of practice areas for the past 20 years. Importantly, she has made significant contributions to the field as a frequent guest lecturer at bar educational functions, in addition to leadership posts with a host of community support organizations. Our clients will benefit greatly with the arrival of this distinguished mediator.”
In addition to her practice at a prominent commercial law firm, Ms. Perry practiced federal criminal law, handled a wide variety of health care matters and taught Federal Criminal Practice as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law, her alma mater. She has served her community in several capacities, including serving as chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 11th Judicial Circuit; the first woman president of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (Miami Chapter); a member of the Miami-Dade County Charter Review Task Force; a Director of the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue K-9 Response Foundation; and the vice-chair of the Miami-Dade Independent Civilian Panel.
Ms. Perry has been AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell since 1990, won The Florida Bar’s G. Kirk Haas Humanitarian Award and is routinely named in Florida Super Lawyers and other listings
She is often asked to speak on cutting edge ADR issues: She has appeared on panels at the Bench and Bar Conferences in Miami-Dade County and recently addressed the importance of preparing the mediator long before the mediation session. She also gave the keynote address at the Spellman-Hoeveler American Inn of Court’s South Florida Trial Lawyers Luncheon; participated in the ABA Panel, “Top Ten Mistakes We’re Making in Mediation and Didn’t Even Know It;” and moderated or participated in the Legal Malpractice and Professional Liability Roundtable sponsored by the University of Miami Center for Ethics and Public Service for several years.
Ms. Perry frequently serves as a neutral in professional malpractice, high-profile and other sensitive matters, including in the areas of commercial, employment, health care, first-party property, personal injury, antitrust and insurance law.
