Past President of Beverly Hills Bar Association Howard Fredman Launches Arbitration and Mediation Practice
New practice Fredman ADR to provide in-person, virtual, and hybrid hearings for California state and federal litigation
LOS ANGELES, November 14, 2022 — After decades of experience in all areas of civil litigation, accomplished practitioner Howard S Fredman announces the opening of a new practice to provide litigation solutions including arbitration, mediation, discovery reference, and private judging. Practice focuses on resolving business and legal disputes through cost-effective ADR services at any stage of the proceeding.
Fredman is a past-President of the Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA) serving from 2015 to 2016, a past member of its Board of Governors, and Chair of its Resolutions Committee. He also headed the BHBA’s delegation to the Conference of Delegates of California Bar Associations. Fredman was also a former president and program chair of the Southern California Business Litigation Inn of Court, a former Chair and long-time Executive Committee member of the Antitrust and Unfair Competition Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and former member of LACBA’s Board of Trustees.
For 20 years, Fredman was a member of the Century City law firm of Fredman Lieberman Pearl, LLP and its predecessors. He has litigated complex business cases in state and federal courts, both at the trial and appellate level, throughout California for more than four decades.
Fredman developed significant antitrust expertise as a Senior Attorney and Counsel for Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) from 1975 through 1987. He also served for more than 20 years as a court appointed Mediator/Attorney Settlement Officer for the Federal District Court in Los Angeles. Fredman has extensive experience defending and prosecuting business contract and tort litigation, class actions, and cases related to the Internet, commercial real estate, banking, trademarks, trade secrets, defamation, unfair competition, and “anti-SLAPP” suits.
Fredman graduated in 1966 from Princeton University and cum laude from Columbia University School of Law in 1969. He clerked for the Honorable Milton Pollack of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
“I’ve always believed there’s a better way to achieve a just and rapid result than Rambo litigation,” explained Fredman. “Lawsuits were originally designed as an alternative to trial by combat, but modern litigation harkens back to something akin to warfare. I’m opening this practice to provide less expensive, less exhausting, and more considered resolution of complex disputes.”
The new practice, Fredman ADR, is based in Beverly Hills, California, and services California state and all federal litigation either in-person or virtually. For more information visit www.fredmanadr.com or email [email protected].
