Experienced Mediator Frank Bedell Joins Upchurch Watson White & Max
MAITLAND, Fla. (August 11, 2023) – Frank M. Bedell, well-known throughout Central Florida for his years as a skilled mediator and arbitrator and as a leader in the Orange County Bar Association and The Florida Bar, has joined Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group.
“Frank Bedell is a seasoned neutral who has enjoyed broad acclaim from his peers for his wise counsel in guiding their clients to satisfactory outcomes in mediation,” the group’s CEO, John Upchurch, says. “We are delighted that he has elected to join forces with the firm, and extend a warm welcome to this outstanding mediator and distinguished member of the legal community.”
Mr. Bedell, as both a commercial trial lawyer and dispute resolution practitioner, has more than 35 years of experience in helping parties find the best way to resolve legal conflicts. “When parties engage in mediation by agreement or by court order, I am committed to helping them optimize case outcomes and arrive at a resolution to their dispute,” he says. “Sometimes, when a case needs to be tried, but the parties want to avoid the courtroom, arbitration may be the best option. In arbitration, all parties agree to have the dispute resolved by an arbitrator or arbitration panel.”
He has an extensive background in resolving disputes in the areas of breach of contract, general civil and commercial litigation, personal injury, real estate, theft of trade secrets and non-compete claims, professional negligence, and probate and trust administration.
Mr. Bedell has served as president of the OCBA and trustee of its Legal Aid Society, which presented an Award of Excellence to him.
His service to The Florida Bar goes back to being president of the Young Lawyers Division. He also was chair of the Bar’s Trial Lawyers Section, a member of the Bar’s Board of Governors’ executive committee and chair of the 2003 Annual Convention Committee. The Bar honored him with a President’s Award of Merit. He currently serves as chair of the Chester Bedell Memorial Foundation.
