ALM announces major expansion of Law.com Radar with the addition of State Courts and new alerting features
Law.com Radar, ALM’s technology-driven client surveillance platform, is introducing coverage of hard-to-access state courts and a range of enhancements that enable users to identify and seize on opportunities
New York, NY – March 21, 2023 – ALM, publisher of legal news sites including Law.com, The American Lawyer and New York Law Journal, announces the expansion of Law.com Radar with the addition of new suit updates from state courts.
Today’s release includes more than 100 courts in California, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Texas. Additional state courts will be introduced at a fast pace over the coming weeks and months, providing Law.com Radar users with new suit alerts from key jurisdictions across the U.S.
Radar’s addition of state court coverage provides visibility into critical litigation arenas that are hard to monitor and includes courts that require manual collection from the courthouse. The release builds on Law.com Radar’s existing coverage of federal district courts and Delaware’s Court of Chancery as well as its publication of corporate deal updates and algorithmic Trend Detection capabilities.
Along with the new courts, Law.com Radar is introducing daily case reports by jurisdiction and new suit alerts that can be configured around courts, practice areas, topics, industry segments, law firms, parties or free text searches.
“The combination of adding state courts coverage and the latest user enhancements greatly expands functionality and configurability for our customers,” said Richard Caruso, Vice President and General Manager, Global Legal News. “We believe our improvements to Radar will revolutionize the way legal professionals approach litigation surveillance and make it an invaluable resource. Our goal is to help our customers save time so they can take strategic action.”
Law.com Radar, launched in 2020, leverages AI technology to process court data and deliver immediate updates to users based on their interests. The tool enables legal professionals to carry out new litigation surveillance with greater efficiency by delivering more context on new filings and shortening the time required to identify and respond to relevant matters.
“State court filings are vitally important to the lawyers and law firms that use Law.com Radar and the courts can be challenging to monitor,” said Vanessa Blum, Senior Director of ALM Newsroom Innovation. “Our team is doing the work of collecting just-filed complaints from courthouses across the country and surfacing them with the context that enables users to act quickly on opportunities.”
Law.com Radar is now integrated with My Law.com. By bringing together real-time client surveillance with the latest news and analysis, My Law.com makes it easier for legal professionals to stay on top of industry developments, support clients and drive conversations around emerging risks and opportunities.
Law.com and Law.com Radar subscribers will initially receive full access to state courts as states are added to Law.com Radar’s coverage until later this year at which point state court content will require upgraded subscription access.
